The Art of Sonic Identity

Sound shapes how a place, a brand, or a moment is experienced.

Sonage is a Vienna-based studio founded by Rojin Sharafi, a composer and sound artist whose practice spans contemporary composition, electronic music, and spatial audio.
Working with acoustic instruments, analog gear, digital tools, and immersive 3D sound systems, Sonage creates custom sound works that respond to space and context—subtle or present, emotional or physical, but always distinct.

Why Sonage

Sonage approaches sound as both material and situation. Rooted in composition and shaped by a sustained engagement with listening, the practice is guided by sensitivity, precision, and careful decision-making.

Each project emerges from its specific context—its space, duration, and purpose—rather than from fixed formats or templates. Working with analog and digital tools, acoustic instruments, and spatial sound systems, Sonage composes with close attention to texture, detail, and nuance.

At a time when production is increasingly automated, Sonage remains committed to sound as a lived and responsive process: something that unfolds over time, engages with its surroundings, and leaves a trace in space and memory.
